Book A School Tour
Looking for a Reception Class place for your child in September 2027? Then book a tour with our Headteacher, Mr Oz Sparks
The best way to choose a primary school is to walk round it on an ordinary day. Come and see Carlton Colville for yourself, with our headteacher, Mr Sparks.
What happens on a tour
Tours take about 30 minutes and run in small groups, so there are only ever a few families at a time. You’ll see the children in their classrooms while they learn, our Reception class and nursery, the swimming pool, the Forest School and the grounds.
There’s no presentation and no pressure. It’s a chance to see what the school is really like and to ask anything you want to know: settling in, class sizes, how we help a child who needs a bit more support, before- and after-school care, or anything else on your mind.
When
We run tours at 9.30am and 1.30pm or 2.00pm on different days each week through to Christmas, with a couple more in early January before applications close. Every date and time is listed in the form below. Choose the one that suits you.
Bringing your child
Children are very welcome. Just let us know on the form so Mr Sparks knows who to expect.
Booking takes about a minute
Fill in the form below and you’ll get an email straight away confirming your date and time and telling you where to come. If you need to change it later, just ring the school office on 01502 572682.

Where to come
Carlton Colville Primary School, Gisleham Road, Carlton Colville, Lowestoft NR33 8DG. There’s usually space in the main school car park. If it’s full, there’s an overflow car park just down the road, but please come to the school first.
Other ways to come and see us
Stay and play, for you and your little one. A relaxed hour after school when your child can explore our Nursery and Reception classrooms and play while you chat to our staff. Next one: Thursday 7th January 3.30 to 4.30.
Open morning. See the whole school in action during a normal school day. Tuesday 24 November, 10–11am.
Most parents find it useful to come on a small group tour and to the open morning. If you can, start with a tour: it’s the best way to get your own questions answered.
Starting Reception in September 2027?
Applications go to Suffolk County Council, not to the school, and close on 15 January 2027. We’ll explain how it works when you visit.
We’ll only use your details to arrange your visit and to contact you about it. We won’t add you to any mailing list. Carlton Colville Primary School is part of the Hartismere Family of Schools. See our privacy notice.
